Presidents Letter and ASDHA Annual Report

August 13, 2007

The Alaska State Dental Hygiene Association has been busy this year. We have been working hard to better serve our members and enhance our profession. ASDHA has always had a vision of HB136 and with the hard work of our board members and the support of our association we were able to bring HB136 into legislation this year. I am honored to have been a part of this legislative session. ASDHA has also worked hard to bring our members together. We had our first Holiday gathering last December and with much support from our members and our community we were able to raise $1000.00 for legislative efforts. We will continue this tradition as it gives the opportunity to exchange stories and laughs in a non dental setting. We have some very talented hygienists that donated items such as blankets, scarves, photographs, tile mosaics and much more. Local business also donated tickets to the PAC, glacier cruises, hockey tickets and much more.
ASDHA will continue to work hard for its members. I applaud the Alaska State Dental Hygiene Association for all the hard work. Thank you for the time spent organizing the CE’s, the letters that were written to the legislators, time taken off work, the baked goods, the meetings that were attended this summer, the web site, and most of all your membership because with out it we would have a hard time preserving our future. I look forward to another exciting year. I will continue to assist the board in the efforts to keep our profession alive.

Thank you,
Ivonne G. Millea, RDH
